CoAudit

An audit agent that lives in Excel and Word

CoAudit is a domain-specific audit agent that lives where auditors already work — inside Excel and Word. Rather than asking people to leave their tools for a chat window, it embeds in the document and does the review in place.

Crucially, every judgment comes with a reasoning trace. In audit, an answer you can’t defend is worse than no answer at all. Exposing why the agent reached a conclusion is what makes its output reviewable instead of something you have to take on faith.

What it does

  • Embedded in Excel and Word — no context-switching out of the workpaper.
  • Domain-specific — grounded in audit conventions, not generic Q&A.
  • Reasoning traces on every judgment — each conclusion shows its work.

This is the standard I wrote about in Albert Einstein Walks Into a Library: audit-grade AI has to be repeatable, accurate, and auditable in itself. CoAudit is what that standard looks like in the tools auditors use every day.
